Core Passive Hunter's Instinct
When Pulchra activates an EX Special Attack, Assist Follow-Up, Chain Attack, or Ultimate, she enters the Hunter's Gait state, increasing the Daze she deals by 15% for 6s.
After switching to another character, if Pulchra is still in the Hunter's Gait state, the state will last until Pulchra switches back in. While in the Hunter's Gait state and as the active character, when Pulchra lands a heavy attack on enemies, she can trigger a Quick Assist from the previous character in the squad.

Review
This tier list assesses Agents (characters) based on their combat potential in Zenless Zone Zero's most demanding contents - Deadly Assault (DA) and Shiyu Defense (SD). Please keep in mind Zenless Zone Zero is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Zenless Zone Zero is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.
Completely free unit everyone will get on their account,
Offers a team-wide buff for Aftershock Agents (All Agents at M6) while dealing solid Daze,
Uses incredibly minimal field to implement her entire kit.
Has limited options to support with only 1 other Aftershock character in the game,
Requires M6 to unlock her more generic supportive capabilities.
Pulchra is our latest A Rank and the first Physical Stun Agent. Despite not being S Rank, she can certainly find a place in quite a number of teams as a competitive choice! Pulchra, like S0 Anby who releases alongside her, is all about the new damage type and mechanic - Aftershock, which revolves around dealing damage and Daze via triggers instead of directly through abilities (Similar to how Burnice’s Afterburn works). Unlike S0 Anby, Pulchra’s Aftershocks all consist of off-field attacks that can occur while you’re playing another Agent! This fact is the defining feature of Pulchra’s playstyle and it’s no exaggeration to say that she’ll be attacking more from off field than she will from on field.
Pulchra’s off-field Aftershock attacks are tied to her unique resource gauge, which takes the form of a row of Jagged Fangs consisting of 6 Fangs initially but reaching up to 8 at M6. To accumulate these Fangs Pulchra must first enter Hunter’s Gait, a special state granted each time she uses an EX-Special Attack, Assist Follow-Up, Chain Attack or Ultimate, upon doing so she’ll fully recover all her Fangs as well as gain a 30% increased Daze multiplier.
When off-field and while she’s in Hunters Gait with Fangs available, whenever another Agent lands a Heavy Attack with either a Special Attack or EX-Special Attack, Pulchra will start her sequence of Aftershock attacks consisting of multiple instances of her Special Attack: Rending Claw - Nightmare Shadow. Each Rending Claw will consume 1 Fang out of Pulchra’s resource gauge and after the first Rending Claw is triggered via a Heavy Special/EX, every subsequent attack landed by an ally will trigger a Rending Claw until Pulchra’s resource gauge is empty. As an extra bonus when consuming the last Fang of her resource gauge, Pulchra’s final Rending Claw will be enhanced.
This creates the incredibly simple playstyle of landing an ability that refreshes Pulchra’s Hunter’s Gait and Fangs, swapping off her, landing a heavy attack with an ally's Special or EX and then unloading all of Pulchra’s Fangs with your choice of ally attacks until she’s empty, rinse, repeat. When looking to optimize this playstyle it’s worth noting that her most seamless and effective means of easily accessing Hunter’s Gait is her Evasive Assist + Assist Follow-up and her EX-Special Attack. Here is an example of how a Pulchra Rotation might play out at M0:
Evasive Assist: Contract - Outsourced Combat
Assist Follow-Up: Independent Pricing

Allied Heavy EX/Special Attack
Special Attack Rending Claw - Nightmare Shadow x 5
Special Attack Rending Claw - Nightmare Shadow (Finisher)

Outside of this, Pulchra brings one more thing to the table thanks to her Additional Ability: Business Partner. While active, any time she hits an enemy with her Special Attack: Rending Claw - Nightmare Shadow, EX-Special Attack, Assist Follow-Up, Chain or Ultimate she applies Binding Trap for 15 seconds. While Binding Trap is active, the entire squad's Aftershock DMG is increased by 30% and at M6 this applies to all damage instead of just Aftershock!
To summarize, what makes Pulchra unique is her ability to deal considerable damage without being on the field for most part - this frees up field time for the rest of your agents to do what they need to and makes her a potent pick for teams that favor this playstyle. In addition to this, she is a great carrier of either the Astral Voice or Proto Punk Disc Drive Sets, which when combined with her Additional Ability, make for some reasonable team buffs for an A ranked stunner (especially at M6).
While she definitely has her place, she has a few downsides. Namely, the fact that one of her best Hunter’s Gait enablers (the combo of Evasive Assist + Assist Follow-up) consumes 2 Assist points instead of the standard 1, and the fact that before M6, she has limited buffing capabilities outside of Aftershock focused teams.

The W-Engines are listed in order of priority. Sometimes the percentages appearing near them won't reflect their performance as pure damage or Stun output isn't the only thing we're looking at - the utility of the W-Engine might be more important than the calculations imply.
The top number shows the performance of the W-Engine when applying Daze while the bottom number when dealing Damage.

1
New best Stun set, to be used on any Stun character in almost any team with very few exceptions. Gives 6% increased Daze on the 2-piece and up to 30% CRIT DMG for the entire squad for 15s when casting EX Specials and Chain Attacks on the condition that the equipper has 50% CRIT Rate or higher, a requirement which is easy to meet but must be ensured. Uptime on this buff is almost always easily maintained permanently, however be mindful this set will not be effective if you aren’t building the rest of your team on CRIT, in which case alternatives will be preferred, and that you cannot run this set multiple times on the same team.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:
Shockstar Disco
Swing Jazz
2
Best generalist Support set, providing a useful 10% ATK on the 2-piece but most importantly buffing DMG dealt by characters entering the field via Quick Assists by upwards of 24%, the biggest buff provided by Disc Drives in the game. Generally a must-have set on any team, but be mindful of ensuring uptime on the buff.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:
King of the Summit
Shockstar Disco
Swing Jazz
3
Niche supportive set used for teams that are in the position of triggering Perfect Assists often. Grants the entire party 15% increased DMG for 10s when triggering a Perfect Assist. Typically used if an Astral Voice wielder is already on the team and the equipped Agent is in a position to trigger lots of Perfect Assists. This set's value is significantly diminished if the player isn't comfortable with timing Perfect Assists, in which case other sets will be favoured such as 4P Swing Jazz.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:
King of the Summit
Shockstar Disco
Swing Jazz
4
Provides the highest Daze output of any Disk Drive set in the game. However, the difference between the 4-piece effect increase in Daze is marginal compared to simply using the 2-piece effect, meaning it almost always yields better results to use a supportive set like King of the Summit or Astral Voice to buff your team further, instead of the extra Daze which only gives extra Stun windows against bosses in very specific situations. If an extra Stun window is enabled by using this set it will perform the best, however this only very rarely happens, causing it to be left behind in favour of other sets.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:
King of the Summit
Swing Jazz

Teams & Synergy
Below we list only the most important synergies for Pulchra. The character can work with others if you know what to do and how to use them.
Manato - Being one of the few Stun Agents that has an Additional Ability that supports Rupture Agents, Pulchra is a decent pick for Manato teams. The low time commitment needed for her to perform allows for Manato to on-field and constantly deal damage, however you will want her at M6 so that her DMG % bonuses apply. With both of them being A-Ranks, it makes for a low cost and accessible team.
Anby: Soldier 0 - Pulchra, being an Aftershock Stunner, has great synergy with SAnby. They activate each others’ Additional Abilities and - as Pulchra’s DMG % bonuses only apply to Aftershocks until M6 - is one of the few pairings where Pulchra has strong performance without needing dupes. With Pulchra being a mostly inactive stunner who applies Daze with little field time required, she affords SAnby the active presence needed to perform. In this comp, Pulchra is able to effectively Stun enemies, provide buffs at M0 and do so at no sacrifice to SAnby’s damage, making for a very capable duo.
Yixuan
Manato - Being one of the few Stun Agents that has an Additional Ability that supports Rupture Agents, Pulchra is a decent teammate pick. You will want her at M6 so that her DMG % bonuses apply, and her performance takes a severe hit against Physical resistant bosses (such as Wandering Hunter), but the low time commitment needed for her to perform means she synergises well with both these Rupture damage dealers who like being on-field to deal damage and build resources.
Nekomata
Soldier 11
Corin - Pulchra is also great with other characters that want a lot of field time and Physical Attack Agents especially as she's able to activate their Additional Abilities effortlessly. This is the case with both Nekomata and Corin (the latter of which usually struggles with this), so there's no conflicts there. Besides, Pulchra takes up minimal amounts of field time as she mostly deals Daze while off-field, much to the benefit of the 3 above characters who really enjoy the extra time.
Astra Yao
Nicole
Lucy - These 3 generalist units are capable of acting as Support for any team in the game. Astra Yao provides Quick Assists, extra Chain Attacks, healing, super low field time, ATK, DMG and CRIT DMG buffs which makes her the overall best choice in almost all cases. Nicole provides the sought-after DEF Shred and CRIT Rate at M6 which makes her competitive, and Lucy has long-lasting ATK buffs which makes her a very practical choice, especially in Fire teams where she can help with building Anomaly and trigger Additional Abilities. All in all, these three can work with anyone. This section lists most popular teams featuring Pulchra in the current phase of Shiyu Defense.

Calculations
Don't use the damage output calculations as an indication on who is worth pulling or investing as those are just simulations and in day-to-day gameplay there's a lot variables and also the skill of the player is important. As usual, don't compare the numbers between characters.
ZZZ has changed a lot from 1.0 - many new mechanics, enemies characters have been introduced and biggest of all the game has a new competitive endgame mode Deadly Assault. Deadly Assault is based around dealing as much damage as possible in 180 seconds, because of this we're changing our calculation style away from a focus on burst to instead focus on extended fights over 3 minutes (180s). Also, many Mindscapes, Disc Drive and W-engine calculations can meaningfully change when factoring in the buffs of an Agents best team, for this reason we're also adding a new feature, allowing you to see damage output with one of the agents best teams buffs factored in.
