Profile
Paranormal Entrance
Basic Attack: Paranormal Entrance
Fires magic projectiles and performs up to 5 consecutive attacks, dealing Psyche DMG.
Basic Attack: Paranormal Cannon
Hold Basic Attack during the 1st hit to charge, then fire a charged cannon forward.
Basic Attack: Paranormal Entrance
Press Basic Attack while airborne to plunge, dealing 1 instance of Psyche DMG to an area upon impact.
Increases DMG based on fall height, up to 100%.
Critical Riposte: Ace Sweep
Triggers when casting Genesse Technique after a Critical Dodge.
"Being this slow will get us customer complaints, you know?" Dodges the attack, dealing 1 instance of Psyche DMG, and reducing Break. Immediately releases fully charged Paranormal Cannon once.
The difference between magic tricks and real magic? As long as you believe, it exists… Like conjuring orbs with your bare hands?
Silent Moonlit Forest Guardian
"O owl of the quiet, moonlit forest depths, answer my call!"* Throws her portable speaker Hootie, dealing Psyche DMG to an area.
Grants the Team an ATK bonus based on Haniel's Base ATK while Hootie is active.
Grants Hootie 1 stack of Four-Part Harmony when the current character attacks, up to 1 stack every 0.5s. Accumulating 4 stacks of Four-Part Harmony triggers Ensemble, dealing Psyche DMG to enemies in an area around Hootie.
Only 1 Hootie can exist at a time. Casting again refreshes Hootie's duration. Hootie remains when switching characters.
O owl of the quiet, moonlit forest depths, I, Haniel, hereby forge a contract with you! … Come on, Hootie, work with me here.
A Melody Named Haniel
Genesse Girls' Academy Paranormal Department! Assuming control! Releases an enhancement field centered on herself and gaining the Paranormal Ace effect for a period of time.
Grants the Team an ATK bonus based on Haniel's Base ATK.
Triggering Ensemble simultaneously triggers 1 additional Ensemble — Symphony effect around the character with increased DMG and range.
Ensemble — Symphony does not grant Plot Armor for Haniel. When triggering Ensemble, the current active character's next attack deals additional damage for 3s. Effect does not stack.
While Paranormal Ace is active, Hootie's duration timer is paused until the end of the effect.
You won't find Genesse Girls' Academy on any map of Hethereau, and naturally you won't find the Paranormal Department either. This story begins with Haniel's first serialized novel…
Easter Egg Time
Don't be so boring! How about a little easter egg? Fires 1 magic projectile at the enemy, dealing 1 instance of Psyche DMG.
It's Friendship!
Nova Enhancement: Allows all allies to drain ATK from the target when Nova ends. The target loses ATK equal to 4% of Haniel's Base ATK, and each ally gains ATK equal to 8% of Haniel's Base ATK. The total drain is capped at 16% of Haniel's Base ATK, and the target cannot lose more than 20% of their initial ATK. Restores both parties' stats upon exiting combat.
For Haniel, she'd rather hear lively stories about companions than lonely tales of heroism. Even a bunch of hot-headed fools would be fine.
It's Bond!
Grants Haniel 1 stack of Plot Armor when the current character triggers Ensemble, increasing the ricochet cap of Paranormal Cannon. Grants 1 stack of Plot Armor per Ensemble trigger.
Grants 2 stacks of Plot Armor per Ensemble trigger while Haniel is in Paranormal Ace state. Can accumulate up to 4 stacks of Plot Armor.
Sports anime makes you want to play sports. Band anime makes you want to learn an instrument. Battle anime — well, I wouldn't recommend trying it.

Review
Provides strong, consistent team-wide ATK buffs that remain active even when she is off-field.
Very easy to fit into most team compositions due to her universal support utility.
With Awakenings, her buff uptime is very good.
Offers additional offensive value through periodic AoE-triggered effects via Ensemble.
Helps with Shop Management.
Loses access to her passive without Chaos Attribute teammates.
Haniel is a Psyche Attribute character who performs the Buff role in combat. She’s a very universal support/buffer who is easy to fit into teams. She’ll be helping with your team’s damage.
She depends on “Hootie,” which is her portable speaker that she can send out. It does deal damage, but more importantly, it gives the team an attack bonus based on her Base Attack. Hootie remains on the field regardless of who is active, so you can switch into your DPS and still get the benefits. Hootie will also follow bosses around, making her reliable even against highly mobile enemies.
Every time the active character attacks, they gain a stack of something called Four-Part Harmony. When you accumulate 4 stacks, you trigger Ensemble, which is an AOE attack that also buffs the active character’s next attack. Supporting her off-field nature, her passive It’s Bond gives Haniel 1 stack of Plot Armor every time Ensemble activates. In simple terms, this increases Haniel’s own personal damage when you use Paranormal Cannon (held basic attack) by increasing its ricochet. You gain more stacks of Plot Armor (double) when you set down Paranormal Ace, which is activated through the ultimate.
Her Ultimate, A Melody Named Haniel, activates Paranormal Ace, an enhancement field that grants an additional ATK bonus to the team that stacks with Hootie's buff. While active, every time Ensemble triggers, one additional Ensemble Symphony will also be triggered, which is basically just an additional Ensemble except with increased damage, and Hootie's duration timer is paused.
You’ll also want to pair her with a Chaos character so you can activate her Nova Enhancement, which steals ATK from the enemy and distributes it to your whole team.
Since she is an A Rank, you’ll get all her Awakenings. Her Awakenings support her playstyle. Some increase her uptime and the damage the active character can deal while her effects are active, while others try to increase her own damage. Those tend to be less relevant, but you’ll be getting all of them anyway. If you unlock all her copies, Sequel (R6) will grant the team an additional 12% Crit DMG while Paranormal Ace is active.
Essentially, she’s a fairly simple character who’s there to buff your team’s attack.
Best Build

For NTE calculations we worked alongside Rivyn Elowen. Any other content such as comments on Arcs, Modules, etc are our own.
Haniel best Arcs (Weapons) are placed in order of what fits their playstyle the most. Check the comments to get additional context. Also, if you go to the Calculations tab, you will find information about the team setup used for the calculations.
Crit Rate > Psyche DMG > Crit DMG > Break Intensity
Crit DMG > DMG % > Crit Rate > ATK % > Break Intensity > ATK
HP: 17,000+
ATK: 2300+
Crit Rate: 50%+

In NTE, you can freely choose Awakening Effects, so you are not forced to unlock them in a specific order, and you can unselect them at any time.
Legendary! The gold back row window seat! (A2) = Finale! For the coming dawn! (A6) > Crisis! Shattering trust! (A5) > New here! Genus transfer student reporting in! (A1) > Assembled! The hero team is formed! (A3) > Seaside! Beach episode! (A4)
As Haniel is an A Rank character, you will likely obtain all of her awakenings anyway. Her most important awakenings are the ones that increase her uptime and her ability to buff the team, which is what you will see above this text. Her personal damage awakenings are nice to have, but they are not very important compared to the others, and the order in which you pick them hardly matters.
Her Legendary! The gold back row window seat! (A2) increases uptime by extending the duration of Hootie being on the field by 4 seconds. Her Finale! For the coming dawn! (A6) reduces Hootie's cooldown by 4 seconds. Both are very important to obtain, and they are about equal in importance since her entire gameplan revolves around keeping Hootie on the field as much as possible, so just pick them up when you can. You will be able to do so as you get a copy of her for free, and you will likely see her in the gacha at some point.
Her Crisis! Shattering trust! (A5) and Assembled! The hero team is formed! (A3) boost her personal damage during her Ultimate state, which also benefits Ensemble. Her New here! Genus transfer student reporting in! (A1) and Seaside! Beach episode! (A4) are the least important unless you intend to play her as a DPS.
Haniel dupe calculations show the relative gain of each Awakening compared to the 'base' character without any active.
This increases Plot Armor's max stacks and raises Paranormal Cannon's ricochet limit, letting her personal damage scale a bit higher. It's a decent pickup but since her personal damage isn't really why you're running her, this one sits lower on the list and you shouldn't be rushing to grab it.
This extends Hootie's duration on the field, which directly means more uptime on her ATK buff for the whole team. This is one of her best awakenings since keeping Hootie active as long as possible is basically the whole point of running her, so this is an early priority alongside A6.
This gives Haniel a Crit Chance boost while she's in the Paranormal Ace state. It's a personal damage boost that doesn't contribute to her role as a buffer, so while it's nice to have eventually it's one of the lower priority picks.
This boosts the additional damage of her next attack when she triggers Ensemble during Paranormal Ace state. Since she's being run as a support, and isn't staying on field long enough to make use of this consistently, the raw calc shows 0% and you make of that as you will.
This increases her Psyche DMG while in the Paranormal Ace state. It's more of a personal damage boost than a team contribution, but it shows a decent enough gain that it's worth grabbing before her other personal damage awakenings like A1 and A3.
This reduces Hootie's CD which just helps reduce your skill downtime. Just like A2 this directly improves her buff uptime which is what she's all about, making these two essentially a package deal you want to grab as early as possible.
R3 is a generic skill level increase, and all calculations are Raw Gain with no other Awakens included.
R6 gives the whole team a Crit DMG boost while Haniel is in the Paranormal Ace state. It's a solid team wide damage bonus that rewards actually using her ultimate, and since you'll be doing that anyway to set up Paranormal Ace it adds up nicely over the course of a fight. Calculations are Raw Gain with no other Awakens included. Assumes +1 Esper Cycle from MC.
