Profile
Combat Practice
Basic Attack: Combat Practice
Applies what he learned in Lamplight Academy's physical education class to perform up to 5 consecutive attacks that deal Cosmos DMG.
Basic Attack: Calculated Landing
Press Basic Attack while airborne to plunge, dealing 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to an area upon impact.
Increases DMG based on fall height, up to 100%.
Critical Riposte: Crisis is Opportunity
Triggers when using Combat Practice after a Critical Dodge. Charges toward the target and uses his backpack to unleash a Flow attack, dealing 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to an area and reducing Break.
Edgar believes there must be a more humane way to contain them. Until that solution is found, he is forced to rely on rougher methods.
Wild Current
Hold to enter a channeling state, continuously casting Current at the target, dealing Cosmos DMG and continuously healing the teammate with the lowest HP.
The CD of Redirect Skill: Wild Current increases based on the duration of use.
Healing is important work. Edgar realized that the rules he learned from games apply in real life as well.
Finnegan's Wake
Immerses in his own thoughts, unleashing a labyrinthine domain for 10s. Deals 1 instance of AoE Cosmos DMG. Heals the current character over the domain's duration.
Always curious, always questioning. Edgar often slips into deep thought without warning. Pulling him out of his complex musings is no easy task.
Weight of Knowledge
This bag is really heavy. Edgar charges toward the target and swings his bag with all his might, dealing 1 instance of Cosmos DMG to an area.
Gentle Edge
Charge Enhancement: Grants 120 Ultimate Energy instantly when a character triggers Charge using a Support Skill. Disables Ultimate Energy gain from Vita Pistils when hitting Slowed targets afterward.
Cooldown: 30s.
Like many geniuses, Edgar carries a quiet pride. Unlike most, his brilliance is gentle and understated, guiding him through every challenge he has faced.
Unchanging Warmth
Cast Redirect Skill Wild Current or Support Skill Weight of Knowledge to gain a Key of Truth, up to 3 keys. Each Key of Truth extends the duration of Ultimate: Finnegan's Vigil by 1s.
Whenever Edgar sees the warm lights of Eibon, comfort rises in his heart. In an ever-changing world, this warmth remains a constant.

Review
Extremely low on-field time.
Ultimate can have good uptime thanks to his passives.
Almost no utility.
Doesn't bring anything unique.
Healing will have low value for most players.
Edgar is a Support Cosmos attribute character focused on healing teammates. Unfortunately, he ended up with the shorter end of the stick by existing in a game where dodging and parrying vastly dominate the combat as opposed to healing. Beyond that, since Edgar doesn't offer anything else outside of healing, he easily loses his spot in any team to virtually anyone.
To make matters worse, none of his healings is effective when actually needed. For his skill, he has to hold the button to heal over time, but standing still in the middle of the battlefield and surrounded by very aggressive enemies isn't a good idea… his ultimate fares a bit better, and is the only part of his kit most people will use at all. It creates a domain that heals based on Edgar's Max HP, over the course of 10s. The issue with it, however, is that due to the fact it's a relatively slow and low healing over time, it sometimes won't be enough to save the team during intense fights or if the other characters are already at low health when the ult is used.
For these reasons, the main recommendation we can give for those wanting to play Edgar, is to use his Ultimate early. Don't wait until your character's HP is too low. Keep the healing steady instead. Furthermore, by doing that, you can try to incorporate Edgar's skill and ult into your main DPS's rotation as means of triggering Esper Cycles. Using Edgar with a quick-switch approach ends up helping more with rotations and overall survivability than expecting him to save the day on the brink of death.

Teams & Synergy
Awakenings & Calcs
In NTE, you can freely choose Awakening Effects, so you are not forced to unlock them in a specific order, and you can unselect them at any time.
A6 > A5 > A3 > A1 > A2 > A4
Edgar's Awakenings are quite simple and with the exception of one, all focus on improving his healing and improving its uptime.
A6 takes the top priority here because it adds a DEF buff to his ult's domain. Aside from helping against enemies who deal burst damage, it's also one of the few buffs currently available in-game who synergize with characters that scale off of DEF, such as Adler. A5 and beyond all focus on improving Edgar's healing and the cycling of his ultimate, with the exception of A4, which increases the damage of his skill. With a low DMG bonus in a character who is already not suited for dealing damage at all, this Awakening buff is nearly useless, with emphasis on nearly, because at least Resonance exists.
While Edgar's first Resonance is a mere increase of ability levels, his second Resonance, unlocked at A6, passively improves Edgar's ultimate until the next cast every time someone in the team takes damage. Ideally you don't want to take damage to begin with, but for anyone playing with characters like Fadia or Baicang, Edgar's presence may be okay if you like him or don't have any other option.
