Build Guide - Knight
Depending on your luck and budget, the skills you have available to you at the start of the game will vary. Also, some encounters demand different types of skills or damage types as well. Because of this, there is no one-size-fits-all build for all content; instead, it’s better to understand all the strongest skills Sage has to offer and use the ones your account has to build what’s best for you at the time.
Introduction
Hey Warrior! You think defense is cool? You love seeing people hitting themselves? You like playing with water? Look no further and join the Knight guild! Compared to Duelist, the Knight focuses more on being the heart of the party by keeping everyone alive, buffing them and leading your team to success.
They can deal some surprising damage, but missing skills and a lack of decent investment can hold back their damage potential. Got your interest for now? Great, let’s move into what makes a Knight different from a regular Warrior!
New important skills
Knights get 4 Legendary skills, 4 Epic, and 3 Rare skills when classing up.
While we could go in depth right now, we’d like to first highlight the skills that compose what constitutes the ‘identity’ of a tank: protecting your team, buffing your team, and staying alive. This doesn’t mean the skills not in this list are useless, far from it, but they will be the ones you will most likely use in content with other players. We want these guides to also feel like a quick briefing on how the classes work, so you know what to expect if you play with them in a dungeon, even if you are not a Knight!
Valor Surge is a powerful buff and a cleanse all-in-one package, with the bonus perk of being a pre-cast skill. It’s not the last time we’ll use this term, and it means skills that will be cast before the official turn begins. If you have multiple pre-cast skills, they will be activated going from the top to the bottom - and if you are playing in a party, characters will activate them in order of Speed.
Heart of Challenge is another pre-cast skill that deals damage to enemies within 3 tiles from the character while also having an 85% chance to inflict Taunt for one turn. The Taunt also does a decent amount of damage, making this skill valuable both for keeping your team alive and for damage.
Guardian Ring is a shield based on your Defense that lasts for 2 turns. That’s it, no strings attached. But don’t underestimate this little shield, as with levels it will become more sturdy and more importantly, it’s gonna help a lot with the more offensive side of knight builds. Got you hooked? Your job is to soak up damage and keep your team alive. Most of your damage here comes from counters. You can replace Guardian Ring with an AOE skill like Mountain Collapse. If you are acting too slowly, consider replacing ripple impact with Feline Dance.

This build works best with Aegiswing, but is workable with Armopi. It is best at stages with bosses and adds. Overall its more of a Glass Cannon build that can suffer without proper investment

This build works best with Aegiswing, but is workable with Armopi. It's good for pushing story and stages with lots of enemies.
Stats
Secondary Main Stats
Below are the recommended secondary stats to look out for when gearing up as a knight. Having the right secondary stats is important for maximizing performance, but significant “Power/Gear score” upgrades or pieces with better additional stats can overwrite this priority.
This is especially important to reach 180k Power as soon as possible, the entry requirement for the Hard mode of the Second Dungeon, Mecha Summit. It’s important to note that these suggestions are subjective: for example, we rate Speed highly since a Tank must act first to refresh buffs/taunt the enemy.
Sword |
Speed > ATK > Physical Mastery |
Shield |
DEF > HP > Physical Res = Elemental Res > Anything else |
Helmet |
DEF >= Physical Res = Elemental Res > HP > Effect Res |
Chest |
DEF >= Physical Res = Elemental Res > HP |
Boots |
SPD > ATK > Elemental mastery = Physical Mastery |
Sub Stats
All item slots will roll a number of additional stats on them, which are chosen randomly from a universal pool. Below is roughly the order of priority to look out for on your gear; however, just because an item has great additional stats doesn’t make it the best choice. Make sure to consider the item's overall power and whether it has the optimal secondary stats as well.

Fantomon
Starting level 50, you will be able to summon pets - aka Fantomons to help you in battle. We won’t go in-depth covering pets since we have a dedicated guide here, so let’s just mention the good ones for knights. The following suggestions are for deployed slots only. We will focus only on Legendary Pet suggestions, since the two Mythicals would be best in slot regardless of the class, with Aegiswing being the de facto best Knight Pet.
Armopi - is your main choice for tanking if you don’t have access to the Mythic Pet
Aegiswing .
Boaro - There’s nothing wrong with using this little fella if you are lacking
Armopi . It’s just..he’s boaring.
Kels (Honorable Mention) - Good supporting option for Knights in Crucible, as you want to contribute as much damage as possible and can dispel buffs.Any other Legendary Pet. They are gonna be slot 2-4 for the stats, so slap here anything you have lots of resources for for free stats.
Relics
Important note for Relic! The %stats (beside Crit Rate, Crit DMG, Accuracy, Block, Crit Res, Effect Res, and Damage boost) are all scaled on your Relics stat, not total stat. For example, if your total flat ATK from relics is 2000, and you have a relic that increases 5% ATK, it will give you 5% x 2000 = 40 more ATK even if your total combined ATK is more than 10.000 already.
Actually, the formula is a bit more complicated, since the 5% can be improved by your character’s trait, too. For example, a Warrior has 15% ATK bonus that comes from the class, which means the final %ATK from the relic is not 5% but 5% x 115% = 5.75%. This rule applies to almost every category except the Class stat group - it runs a different formula, which we don’t really care much about.
As a rule of thumb, most classes will focus on specific elements when planning their Relic investments. For the Knight classes, those are usually Water and Light. That doesn’t mean you should avoid all other elements, as they can have useful, unique stats that will help you in your journey. We will mostly prioritize unique stats that will complement your tanking stats or good offensive stats to start building towards the damage side of Tanks - it exists, and it can be quite impressive!
Mythic Relics are a bit of a different issue, since they cannot be obtained outside of gacha and/or selectors.
We’ll briefly mention the best pick for Knights in case you are a high spender or happen to get a selector from events, but you are more than welcome to join our Discord community if you want more personalized advice. As a Knight is a ‘beginner class’, we’ll only include Relics that can be obtained in Verdantglade and Cinder Ridge.
Verdantglade
Mythic relics:
Top picks: Aquaborn Cradle (5% Crit Res) and Nymph’s Sword Hilt (5% Crit Rate). These are hard to come by stats in relics, on top of being water, our main element early on!
Honorable mention: Horn of Abundance is Light and grants a 2.5% damage boost.
Legendary relics:
Top picks: Exalted Queen (Verdantglade V) and Thunderbolt Halberd (Verdantglade XI) provide damage boost and damage resistance while being Light element to start building our affinities.
Honorable mentions: Water Legendary set (Verdantglade III, VI, IX, and XIII) provides the usual affinity and some Tank stats; other than that, you can target relics with useful flat stats.
Cinder Ridge
Mythic relics
Top picks: Genesis Dew provides 5% block rate and is the most desirable Knight Relic of the set. Water is good, Water is Knight.
Honorable mentions: Sandfall Sarcophagus, if you happen to get all the other 3 Water Mythic Relics (completes the set for more Block Rate), Pinnacle Radiance is Light and gives 7.5% Crit Damage on top of Light Affinity.
Legendary Relics:
Top picks: Breaking the mold a bit, we have Fire set as a priority here, with Ouroboros Charm (Cinder Ridge XVIII) giving 3% Block Rate and Geocore Tablet (Cinder Ridge IX) giving 3.6% Crit Res.
Honorable mention: You can finish up the rest of the Fire Legendary set (Cinder Ridge III) for 3% Crit Rate or Accuracy (Cinder Ridge VII). Other than that, you can target light/water relics that provide affinity or are simply useful flat stats and resistances.
