Best guide and build for Corin from ZZZ (Zenless Zone Zero). Corin is an
rank character with the Physical attribute who belongs to the
Attack Specialty and who is part of the
Victoria Housekeeping Co. faction.
Domestic work or not, leave everything to her! (Oh, uhh? B-but I'm not that good!) She's obedient, diligent and responsible, and not afraid of a little hard work! (One moment please! That's really not me!) She'll never let her companions suffer, and always takes responsibility! (Please listen to me! Such exaggeration will make customers misunderstand!) You'll find no better maid than Corin! (Oooh, please, please don't send this report out! This isn't the real me!)
Corin has at least one video guide available, so if you prefer this sort of medium to learn more about a character, check it out:

Review
This tier list assesses Agents (characters) based on their combat potential in Zenless Zone Zero's most demanding contents - Deadly Assault (DA) and Shiyu Defense (SD). Please keep in mind Zenless Zone Zero is a skill-based game and each character has a different playstyle, difficulty level and even special tricks and combos. Zenless Zone Zero is also a team based game and it's only by combining both these factors to the highest level a character can reach optimal performance.
Surprisingly high damage potential with a high skill ceiling. Can give surprisingly good results under the right conditions;
Extremely accessible W-Engines, ready to go with permanent banner options;
Is free!
Particularly reliant on player skill and the right teammates to perform. Wants proper management of Decibels and Assist Follow-Ups to access Ultimate every Stun which is complex in her best teams, also wants proper combos that are swap-intensive;
Has a huge gap in performance going from her best teammates to more accessible, or even second-best options;
Performance will also vastly vary depending on match-up. Particularly good against Physical-weak enemies and enemies with lots of Perfect Assist opportunities, will face severe drops in performance against other kinds of enemies.
Big thanks to cornzone for helping us with Corin's review and guide.
Corin is an A-rank Physical Attack Agent whose main niche as a main damage dealer is quickswap-styled combos relying on a few key attacks, being her Quick Assist, EX Special, Chain Attack and Ultimate. While she seems slow at first glance due to her weapon of choice being a chainsaw that looks like it’s probably twice her body mass, she can surprisingly play rather quickly and deal really high damage for an A-rank Agent provided you play her properly under the right conditions. Let’s delve into the specifics of her kit so we can understand how to do so:
Some of Corin’s Basic Attacks (3 and 5), her Chain Attack, her Ultimate, her Assist Follow-Up and her EX Special feature possible extensions by repeatedly pressing the correct attack input or holding it (this is the Basic Attack input for all instances except EX Special), during which she slashes with her chainsaw for a longer period of time, dealing higher damage to enemies. This is one of her primary means to deal damage and is essential to her combos.
When she does so, via her Core Passive, the skill’s damage dealt is significantly increased (by 37.5%) which means she always wants to use those extensions. Her Additional Ability increases her damage dealt against Stunned enemies by 35%, which would mean she ideally wants to play around strong Stun combos which will require proper preparation and execution, and while this is indeed true for her optimal playstyle, this Additional Ability’s activation condition is rather difficult to fulfill with Corin’s current meta teams, so it will go unused in favour of stronger teammates in her optimal teams.
The highest portion of Corin’s damage is in her Ultimate. This means her utmost priority is to generate Decibels as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to have an Ultimate available every Stun window.
However, Corin’s Decibel generation is very dependent on the encounter you are facing. While Corin’s Decibel generation doesn’t work differently from the majority of the other Agents in the game, she has a few key actions that generate significantly more Decibels than other actions. The most important of these are Anomaly and Disorder triggers as well as Defensive Assists. With that being said, triggering frequent Assault Anomalies without Yuzuha in the team is rather difficult (and ideally Corin wants to play with Astra Yao and Trigger), so outside of teams featuring Yuzuha, guaranteeing high Decibel generation from Anomalies can’t be considered.
This means that in Corin’s best teams, she will want to perform as many Perfect Assists as possible. As a result, Corin’s Decibel generation will be significantly slowed down against enemies that don’t have a lot of Perfect Assist windows, and more importantly than that, it’ll require Corin players to Perfect Assist with Corin whenever possible. This is rather difficult to guarantee all the time as Corin needs to not be the active party member in order to perform a Defensive Assist, but she also wants active field time in order to deal damage. Thus, guaranteeing an Ultimate every Stun window is very difficult and is what separates the best Corin players from the rest.
With that being said, when it comes to Decibel generation, Chain Attacks and Quick Assists can also be a big help over time, which is part of why Astra Yao is so powerful as a Support alongside her (and also because Astra has the current highest buffing potential for Attack Agents). Additionally, Corin’s EX Specials, Chain Attacks and Basic Attacks are a good chunk of her damage total and can allow her to deal good damage in all scenarios. Hence, while Corin’s potential is undoubtedly hindered against enemies that don’t have a lot of Perfect Assist opportunities, she still can perform to a certain degree, given the right team and setup.
As mentioned earlier, outside of her Ultimate, Corin’s Chain Attack, some Basic Attacks, Assist Follow-Up and EX Special are all very useful tools for her.
Corin’s Basic Attack 1 and 2 are slow and do not deal much damage. As a result, we will always avoid using them. In any scenario, this can be done via her Dash Attack, but ideally we want to exploit Corin’s Assist Follow-Up, Dodge Counter and Quick Assist in order to immediately transition into her Basic Attack 4, and her Chain Attack to immediately transition into her Basic Attack 5.
Corin’s EX Special costs a lot of Energy when extended, but it also costs a lot of movement speed and most importantly, field time. Against more mobile enemies, it can be completely avoided mid-animation and as a result she will ideally only use it during Stun windows. However, it can also be switched out without extending it, which is useful to keep in mind in order not to waste any Energy if a Stun window isn’t readily available, as it still deals a good amount of damage.
Additionally, Corin’s Ultimate has a lot of lag at the end of the move which can be cancelled via a Dash, which is particularly useful if you want to follow it up with her EX Special during a Stun window. It can also follow up into her Basic Attack 5.
This same Basic Attack 5 can be freely switched out of. This will save a significant amount of time as Corin will still perform the attack (which is rather strong) but other actions can be freely inputted by another Agent on the field.
Outside of her Chainsaw extension mechanics, pretty much all of Corin’s attacks work exactly as you’d expect them to, simply dealing damage and having slower animations. Attacks not mentioned earlier hence have no intricacies whatsoever and typically go unused.
We’ll immediately lay our cards on the table here and state that Corin is an off-meta DPS, even if she occasionally sees use in Seed teams. When played as the main carry however, she has a large performance discrepancy between her best teammates and her more accessible ones. Her reliance on Astra Yao as a Support is particularly notable, and she also strongly benefits from inactive Stun Agents such as Trigger and Ju Fufu. While she does have other options, and from a Disk Drive and W-Engine perspective she is rather easy to build, Corin’s performance depends vastly on what teammates you have access to and what enemy you are facing.
Trigger is especially worth mentioning, since Trigger’s chain attack will position Corin behind the enemy, allowing Corin to get the most use out of Steel Cushion (one of her best W-Engines) without any extra effort such as manually moving behind the enemy - which costs time and hence also damage.
As a result, Corin is a niche DPS that can function very well and has a surprisingly high skill ceiling. She is one of those characters who can definitely output some crazy scores and clear times for an A-rank DPS Agent, but it comes at a cost: her performance isn’t higher than current meta DPS and it is also extremely variable depending on the encounter and teammates. To boot, her ideal teammates are highly competitive in the meta and may end up being used with greater efficiency on other teams.
In conclusion, Corin definitely can get good results, way better than what one may initially expect. However, this typically comes at a cost where from a pure meta perspective, resources and time spent building and learning how to play her could definitely be used on other characters. With that being said, if you really like Corin’s character or playstyle, she can definitely provide good results and can be considered as a potential addition to your DPS Agent roster!

Puffer Electro usually falls behind other sets, but this changes if Dialyn is present on the team. With her, it is possible to always have Puffer's buff up in critical burst periods, and even maintain 100% uptime in stun despite its 12s duration by staggering Dialyn's Ultimate conversion with Decibel Ultimates.
Best combined with your choice of 2-PC Set:

A volatile Disc Drive option with big ups and downs depending on the encounter you're facing, your team composition and how well you play around its effect. In the case of Corin, she has big windows of damage concentrated in several key abilities, meaning that she can make good use of this set. As a matter of fact, it is the easiest to use and makes for the highest damage potential during her Stun windows, but be mindful of triggering its effect accidentally.

Teams & Synergy
Below we list only the most important synergies for Corin. The character can work with others if you know what to do and how to use them.
Dialyn - Dialyn is easily the best Stunner for Corin and far surpasses any double support comps at the time of her release. Being a Physical Agent, she enables her Additional Ability - which rarely ever gets met in her previous best teams - and can help with Decibel generation by providing extra Physical Anomaly build-up. Dialyn is particularly well-suited to Corin though due to both her Ultimate conversion and 2 second stun duration extension; most of Corin's damage comes from her Ultimate in stun, so getting up to 2 of them is a massive damage increase. Having more time in stun to fully charge and hold EX Special casts and Chains further boosts Corin's damage potential. There's arguably no Agent more suited to a Corin team than Dialyn.
Trigger
Ju Fufu - Alternative stun options if you don't have Dialyn. They can provide buffs while inflicting Daze and Aftershock damage off-field, however Trigger provides much more significant buffs especially with her Signature W-Engine and more Daze off-field than the others, that she activates quicker. Her Chain also positions Corin behind the enemy to activate Steel Cushion properly. However, either make for an amazing Stun pairing for Corin due to their ability to leave the window open for Corin to take field time and make full use of her kit mechanics.
Seed - Seed is able to buff Attack Agents in several ways. Giving them Energy, ATK, DMG dealt and CRIT DMG increases, while also dealing amazing damage of her own. A lot of Physical-weak bosses also tend to be weak to Electric, which makes Seed and Corin pretty natural partners, considering Corin can act as a solid Steel Charge battery for Seed all the while dealing great damage.
Astra Yao
Nicole
Yuzuha - These 3 generalist units are capable of acting as Support for any team in the game. Astra Yao is the best by far for Corin as she provides Quick Assists, extra Chain Attacks, healing, super low field time, ATK, DMG and CRIT DMG buffs which makes her the overall best choice. Yuzuha is the ultimate Anomaly buffer who also has awesome ATK and DMG% buffs applicable to any Agent as well, giving her strong general use potential. She can also help Corin get her Ultimate quicker via applying more Assault anomalies and she also helps her use the Fanged Metal Disk Drive set more effectively; Nicole provides the sought-after DEF Shred and CRIT Rate at M6 as well as speedy access to Quick Assists during Stun which makes her competitive for Corin teams. job.This section lists most popular teams featuring Corin in the current phase of Shiyu Defense.

Calculations
Don't use the damage output calculations as an indication on who is worth pulling or investing as those are just simulations and in day-to-day gameplay there's a lot variables and also the skill of the player is important. As usual, don't compare the numbers between characters.
ZZZ has changed a lot from 1.0 - many new mechanics, enemies characters have been introduced and biggest of all the game has a new competitive endgame mode Deadly Assault. Deadly Assault is based around dealing as much damage as possible in 180 seconds, because of this we're changing our calculation style away from a focus on burst to instead focus on extended fights over 3 minutes (180s). Also, many Mindscapes, Disc Drive and W-engine calculations can meaningfully change when factoring in the buffs of an Agents best team, for this reason we're also adding a new feature, allowing you to see damage output with one of the agents best teams buffs factored in.
This character uses our new calculation format for this reason, do not compare her calculations to older character. We'll be updating all DPS characters soon.
