Reroll Guide
There are a few things to consider when rerolling in Sword x Staff, as it can be a bit tricky, time-consuming, and most importantly, it can make it harder to play with your friends/community.
Limitations
The rerolling method limitations include:
You are automatically given a Guest account when you open the game after downloading the additional content, and it cannot be quickly deleted.
The usual solution of clearing the data of the app works, but it will make you re-download some data.
On CN/TW, you cannot use the salted email strategy as only Google/Apple accounts and Facebook accounts can be used to link the game;
Working Emulators (in case you want to do multi-reroll):
MuMuPlayer, LDPlayer 9, Bluestacks
When using Emulators: install the game, open it to download additional content. Once the additional content has been downloaded, close the game without proceeding further. By cloning this instance, you’ll be able to quickly create new guest accounts without having to re-download the additional content.
IMPORTANT! Each server has a limited capacity! Following a ‘first-come, first-served’ model, you will not be able to play with your friends/community in co-op content if you end up on different servers due to rerolling. In such cases, rerolling is definitely not worth it.
Getting one or multiple strong skills out of the gate will definitely help with your early progression; however, expect to be able to perform multiple hundreds of pulls within your first week of playing, reducing the gap between rerollers and non-rerollers after the first few days.
Reroll Process
It takes about 15-20 minutes per reroll in Sword x Staff. Here’s what you will need to do:
Follow the tutorial as it guides you, picking a name. Although the name can be changed later, it is done by using a paid-only item. There cannot be duplicate names on one server.
Pick your first class. This matters for the first 10 pulls, but can otherwise be changed at the end of the tutorial when talking to the grandpa.
Follow the tutorial, and to make it easier, don’t forget to tap on the button to the right of the tutorial missions; it will highlight the items you need to pick up on the map.
Except for the first time on each playthrough, whenever you see the small pink bird with a red icon next to monsters, you can ignore the bird and attack the monsters next to it. This will skip most of the related dialogues and save some time.
There are 2 unwinnable fights: the Bear and the Golem. Leaving the fights immediately works the same as being defeated by them, so save a few seconds by doing that the first time you have to fight them.
After losing to the Bear, you unlock x2 battle speed, so make sure to use it.
Once you’ve defeated the Golem, talk to the grandpa. That’s when you decide which class path you’ll follow for the early game, pick up all the loot next to him, then it’s time to go through all the various event tabs, the shop, the mail, and the codes to claim as many pulls as you can.
Pull as much as you can on the generic banner, and feel free to convert your Dawnium into more pull currency.
If you’re not satisfied and want to reroll, you have a couple of options:
Other servers are open, and you can try your luck there. Servers can be changed in the main menu (top right button).
You absolutely want to play on this server. In that case, you need to be quick and use a new guest account to get in before the server reaches max capacity.
Current Codes
Check the homepage for current codes.
Pulls and where to get them
Here’s how many pulls you can get by clearing the tutorial and claiming as many rewards as possible right after:
10 forced pulls from tutorial.
10 pulls from the account creation daily login event.
10 pulls from the daily login.
10 pulls from the mail.
3 pulls picked up/received during tutorial.
Extra pulls depending on release codes.
About 12 pulls from Dawnium conversion (depends on the number of items in the cash shop, more items for sale = more free Dawnium).
In total, without counting any codes, you’ll get around 45 pulls + 10 pulls forcefully spent during the tutorial. You can get Legendary skills from the tutorial summoning.
Which Skills should you aim for?
With a very limited number of skills available to T1 classes, there are only a few highly recommended skills, the rest being either good but lacking synergy or not giving much advantage when it comes to progressing fast. For this reason, a strong active skill is recommended, both for Mages and Warriors, with a complementary active or passive skill as a bonus. Top-tier and Very good Skills tend to see use even at higher class Tiers, while the Not recommended Skills, although useful at times, are more easily replaced and rarely optimal choices once your account is fleshed out.
Mages
Top tier (Get 1, or 2 if you’re motivated):
Water Assault is the go-to recommendation for Mages, with its very wide AoE, good damage, and great synergy with Water-type skills. If you’re going to start a Mage playthrough with a single skill, this is the one.
Gale Shield is the best source of protection for Mages in T1, providing passive Shielding at the start of every fight and small damage in AoE once the Shield is broken. The skill, though, gets replaced at T2 if you’re planning to play the Sorcerer - they receive a better version of it called
Void Bubble
Very good (getting 1 alongside a Top Tier skill is great):
Water to Ice is a powerful passive skill that drastically increases the damage output of Water-heavy Mage setups. Water Assault, Ice Spike, and Water Shot all benefit from this passive, and it’s the ideal pair if you’ve obtained Water Assault.
Wind's Delight deals high damage in a small area; its main downside is that it belongs to the Wind element, which can’t benefit from Water to Ice. Its clear potential is lower than Water Assault; however, its Single Target (ST) damage is top-of-the-line in T1 for Mages.
Blazing Fire Ring , while fairly powerful, it hits in a small AoE around the Mage and doesn’t synergize with any of the great AoEs Mage has access to, on top of being Fire element, thus not working with Water to Ice.
Mana Surge is another extremely strong passive, as it passively increases the Crit Rate of the Mage, working on every source of damage that can Crit, regardless of element.
Flaming Path has very high potential with the right setup, even in T2. The problem is that you need to move around, so you want skills with specific ranges like Frost Bolt that force you to reposition, and even then, you’re still relying on RNG a lot.
Not recommended (base orange rarity):
Void Blessing also offers extra survivability by increasing the max HP of allies in a big AoE. Although the skill has a bit of healing, its potency is fairly negligible when considering its activation condition. The biggest downside here is that the skill takes up an active slot, slowing down your clear speed.

Warriors
Top tier (get 1, or 2 if you’re motivated):
Heavy Impact is the highest ST Damage skill in T1, which makes it a premier Boss-killing skill available right from the start.
Mountain Collapse is the most relevant AoE for Warriors in T1, which can nicely improve your clearing speed while remaining relevant in T2.
Whirlwind Slash is a powerful AoE, but its very short range hinders it. With Blade Tempest, Whirlwind slash can even be used in Single Target. The skill is amply used even in T2.
Very good (getting 1 alongside a Top Tier skill is great):
Blade of Lament gives Lifesteal to every Skill used by the Warrior, making it invaluable in solo scenarios, but falling short in co-op content once a Healer is part of the team.
Counter Blade provides a solid chance to counter any enemy who hits you while being close to you, passively improving damage.
Not recommended (can be okay if you rolled a Top Tier as a bonus):
Insightful Eye passively increases Crit Rate, and although this is the most valuable stat for Duelists later on, the skill is almost fully useless in T1 and only starts being worthwhile late in T2.
Iron Fortress is mostly used in group play, improving the DEF of all allies close to the Warrior at the start of battle. This skill can be used even at higher Tiers, but pales in comparison to the other three passives for Solo play.
Lion Combo - Good damage for a 0 CD Skill, but its potential isn’t high enough to justify rerolling for it.
