Gacha System
In Sword X Staff, multiple progression systems are tied to a Gacha System, and in this guide, we’ll cover the ways each of those works, without going into the specifics when it comes to optimization, what to aim for, etc. For those more detailed explanations, including rankings and tips to be efficient, check out the corresponding guides!
There are three main things you pull/summon for in Sword x Staff: Skills, Relics, and Fantomons. Each of them requires a different currency, and all represent an integral part of your character’s build, improving their power to a varying degree, or unlocking entirely different playstyles to adapt to any situation.
Skill Gachas
The Skill system is the first to be introduced to the player, and it shapes the core gameplay of your character. Choosing a Class path, specializing in Single Target or AoE, all of that is done by looking at the Skills and choosing those that correspond the most to your desired playstyle. Skills have multiple Gachas, namely the Standard Gacha and the Premium Gacha.
Standard Gacha
The Standard Gacha is the bread and butter of Sword X Staff’s Gacha systems. Stellatie, the Blue “Pull Tickets”, are frequently awarded through logins, events, gameplay, etc. They can also be exchanged for by converting Dawnium (Orange Crystals that serve as the all-purpose currency of Sword X Staff), at a rate of 100 Dawnium for 1 Stellatie. You can choose which Class path you’re pulling Skills for by using the top-right dropdown menu. Changing Classes does not reset your pity.
There’s a 1% chance to roll a Legendary skill, 7% chance to roll an Epic, and a 22% chance to roll a Rare. Skill Shards of all rarities account for the remaining 70%.
Every 10 pulls guarantees a Rare skill or better.
Every 30 pulls guarantees an Epic skill or better.
Every 70 pulls guarantees a Legendary skill.
The pity resets whenever you get a skill of the corresponding rarity.
When you unlock a higher Tier class, its skills are added to the pool without removing the previous Tiers. Unlocking different Classes of the same Tier (Sorcerer and Sage, for example) does not put the skills of both Classes in the pool; you have to choose which you’ll be pulling for with the dropdown menu.
On the top left of the screen, you’ll notice extra rewards being handed out at certain milestones. The first and most important one early on is the 200 accumulated pulls on the Standard Banner, giving a Legendary T1 Skill selector box. These Mileage rewards mostly grant Covenite, the currency used for the Premium Gacha.
Premium Gacha
The Premium Gacha first unlocks after reaching a T2 Class for the first time. With the dropdown menu on the top right, you can choose which specific Class you are pulling for, but only if you have unlocked the T2 of that class:
A T2 Sorcerer can pull for Sorcerer-specific skills, however without unlocking T2 for Duelist, Knight, and Sage, they can only pull for the generic T1 skills if they do not select the Sorcerer skill pool.
Once you’ve unlocked multiple Skill pools, you can switch between them at any time without resetting your pity.
The Rates for each rarity are the same as the standard banner; however, only the Skills of the specific Class and Tier you’ve chosen are available to drop.
Unlike Stellatie, Covenite cannot be exchanged for using Dawnium or any other resource; it can only be obtained through events, Mileage rewards, etc.
Shard Exchange
Speaking of Mileage rewards, every 50 pulls on the Premium Banner gives a selector ticket that can be used to obtain 30 shards of any skill, for any Class that you’ve unlocked. Those Shards can then be used to upgrade your skills or to acquire new ones.
It takes a different number of shards to unlock new skills, depending on the rarity:
10 shards for a Rare skill.
30 shards for an Epic skill.
90 shards for a Legendary skill.
It is currently not advised to redeem your tickets for T1/T2 skills, as the early game showers you with pull currency, and duplicates aren’t too important at first.
Relic Gacha
Relics are unlocked at Account level 30, and are a great source of passive bonuses, ranging from ATK/DEF/HP, but also including effects such as DMG Boost/RES, or even increased EXP.
What are Relics?
Relics are collectible set items that come in different rarities and elements, each providing stats as you collect and upgrade them, but also offering powerful set bonuses when you manage to assemble a full set.
Here’s the quick and dirty, taken from our Relic mini-guide in case you haven’t checked our Relics guide previously:
Each Zone in the Adventure mode, other than the tutorial, has its own batch of Relics.
Each batch of Relics features sets, divided into Elements (Wind, Fire, Light, etc).
Each Element has multiple Sets, composed of a single Rarity: a set for Rare Relics, one for Epics, etc.
Collecting a full Set grants extra Bonuses.
Upgrading the Relics with Shards improves the Stats they give passively.
Upgrading a full Set with Shards unlocks more Set Bonuses.
As you can tell, there’s a lot to unpack here when you’re not familiar with the game, so we recommend you check out the guide we’ve prepared over there:

The Relic Gacha
The Relics Gacha, also called “Aeonic Gacha”, is where you’ll get most of your Relics. The currency to summon on these banners is called “Auroral Cards”, which we’ll simply call Cards in this segment. The Cards' colours mirror the rarity system, from Rare (Blue) to Mythic (Gold). You need 10 cards of one rarity to summon once, and 100 cards for a full multi. There are also Elemental Badges, which allow you to select a specific Element to pull on.
The Rates are split between full Relics and Shards, and they also vary based on the rarity of the Cards used:
Rare Banner:
0.1% chance for a Legendary, 2% for Legendary Shards.
0.9% for an Epic, 12% for Epic Shards.
5% for a Rare, 80% for Rare Shards.
At least 1 Rare guaranteed every 10 pulls.
Epic Banner:
0.1% chance for a Mythic, 3% for Mythic Shards.
0.9% for a Legendary, 15% for Legendary Shards.
5% for an Epic, 76% for Epic Shards.
At least 1 Epic guaranteed every 10 pulls.
Legendary Banner:
1% chance for a Mythic, 15% for Mythic Shards.
12% for a Legendary, 72% for Legendary Shards.
At least 1 Legendary guaranteed every 10 pulls.
Mythic Banner:
15% chance for a Mythic, 85% for Mythic Shards.
At least 1 Mythic guaranteed every 10 pulls.
Elemental Banner:
3% chance for a Mythic.
12% chance for a Legendary.
85% chance for an Epic.
At least 1 Legendary guaranteed every 10 pulls, and at least 1 Mythic guaranteed every 40 pulls.
You’re going to be flooded with Rare and Epic Cards through playing, and with the Mileage system, you’ll get extra Legendary and Mythic Cards on top of some being awarded through various means, especially the Void Rifts events. Alternatively, Dawnium can be converted into Rare Cards, but it’s not recommended as there are many more efficient ways to spend it.
Note that each region has its own Relics, and you can change the banners with the top-right dropdown menu, but with the big bonuses granted by full sets, it’s recommended to remain on each Region’s banners until 50-70% of the Relics have been obtained at least once.
Fantomon Gacha
Fantomons are the pets of Sword X Staff. They give your character passive stat increases, and the one you select to go on adventures with you also brings out its own set of skills.
This Banner unlocks after Account level 50, and here are its perks:
There’s a 0.8% chance to roll an SSR Fantomon, and 15% for Legendary Shards. At least 1 Legendary Fantomon is guaranteed every 80 pulls.
5% chance for an Epic Fantomon, and 9% for their Shards. At least 1 Epic Fantomon is guaranteed within 30pulls.
There are respectively 16% and 50% chance to get Epic and Rare Fantomon upgrade mats.
4.2% chance to roll a Summon Crystal, and each multi guarantees at least 1 Summon Crystal. Summon Crystals are used to buy Mythic rarity Fantomons in the Shop, and you need 60 Crystals to buy one.
The Mileage system of the Fantomon Gacha only rewards Fantomon upgrade materials.

Affection Gacha
The Affection Banner is the classic Friendship Banner from other games of the genre, using Affection tokens to pull for various resources and currencies.
Where to get the tokens
You can get the tokens in a few different ways:
Doing Daily Dungeons and Raids with other players, not bots.
Completing Trials with other players.
Fighting the Field Bosses.
Taking care of the animals/garden in the guild.
Play the Split Mirage Gamemode.
Essentially, co-op activities with other players are where you’ll find the bulk of your Tokens. Note that you cannot get more than 1000 tokens per week, so it’s extremely inefficient to “binge” one week and skip the token farming the other, for example.
What’s in the banner?
In the Affection Banner, you can get various resources ranging from upgrade mats, Affection gifts to raise affinity with NPCs, Lucky Tickets for the Wheel of Destiny, or even Stellatie.
On top of that, Legendary rarity Gifts are obtained from Mileage rewards every 30 pulls on this banner.
