Build Guide - Berserker
Depending on your luck and budget, the skills you have available to you at the start of the game will vary. Also, some encounters demand different types of skills or damage types as well. Because of this, there is no one-size-fits-all build for all content; instead, it’s better to understand all the strongest skills Sage has to offer and use the ones your account has to build what’s best for you at the time.
Introduction
Berserker (T3) doesn’t really change much for Duelists' playstyle as the class still remains Physical damage focused at this tier, so the pieces you farmed on the previous tier will still work well in the early stages of the next area. This changes at Tier 4, but that’s not something this guide covers - you will have to wait for the T4 Duelist guide to finally switch to a great Elemental build!
Performance-wise, Duelists at Tier remain behind Sorcerers in most PVE content, but the gap isn’t as large as it was on Tier 2. In PVP, they actually got even better as their burst potential got a big boost.
At this Tier, the Duelists' build revolves around the new Charm -
Blade of Judgment - that puts a special Mark on enemies every time they’re hit, and once 10 stacks are reached, an additional burst of Physical damage will be dealt to them - which scales with Physical Mastery. Since the stacks are applied per hit, you want to focus on using Techniques that do as many hits as possible, even if they will deal less damage than one big hit ability. That’s because the passive damage bonus from
Blade of Judgment makes up for the loss of the initial damage, so you want to trigger it as often as possible.
The passive is so good, you will use it in virtually every build at this Tier, and it’s also used later down the line, too, in some content - though at Tier 4 the ‘meta’ build shifts away from Physical damage into Elemental one!
There are a few other skills you obtain at this Tier that are worth mentioning:
Blade Siphon - a better
Blade of Lament , since it heals for more, but it requires a Crit to trigger. So, despite being a big upgrade on paper, if your Crit Rate isn’t high enough, it’s not worth using.
Hunter's Judgment - your go-to gathering skill moving forward that also deals decent damage after pulling enemies toward you. It also deals multiple hits, making it worth well with
Blade of Judgment
Eclipse Slash - a 6-hit single target nuke that synergizes well with
Blade of Judgment .

You can use
Blade of Lament instead of
Blade Siphon if your Crit Rate isn’t good enough to trigger it consistently. Also, if you’re not worried about dying, you can replace
Indomitable Will with a more offensive Charm.

Stats
Secondary Main Stats
Below are the recommended secondary stats to look out for when gearing up. Having the right secondary stats is important for maximizing performance, but significant “power/gear score” upgrades or pieces with better additional stats can overwrite this priority.
Sword |
Physical Mastery > ATK > SPD |
Gauntlets |
Physical Mastery > ATK > SPD |
Helmet |
DEF >= Physical Res = Elemental Res > HP |
Chest |
DEF >= Physical Res = Elemental Res > HP |
Boots |
Physical Mastery > ATK > SPD |
Sub Stats
All item slots will roll a number of additional stats on them, which are chosen randomly from a universal pool. Below is roughly the order of priority to look out for on your gear; however, just because an item has great additional stats doesn’t make it the best choice. Make sure to consider the item's overall power and whether it has the optimal secondary stats as well.

Fantomon
Here are the best Fantomons you can use on Berserker:
Nyxarchon - obvious best in slot that deals additional damage and provides DEF shred debuff - used in all content,
Aegiswing - mostly a PVP-focused pet that provides you with another cheat death and, later, also Taunt (in battle mode),
Sylvaerie - gives you basically a permanent ATK and SPD buff - both stats that you really want as a Duelist,
Zeioletus - provides you with additional damage burst every turn - depending on your stats, it may perform better than Sylva, but for most people, the benefit from her buffs will outperform Zeioletus,
Terragon - similar to Zeioletus, but directly working with Physical Damage instead, which should scale better for Warrior classes while also providing ATK reduction on enemies at a low base chance (25%)
