Synergy (Social Links) Overview

Let us start by saying that you DO NOT NEED TO PULL CHARACTERS to access their social link. Those are added to the game alongside the characters' banner and can be progressed regardless of whether you possess the character or not.

Many characters that the Protagonist will meet will have their own Synergy (Social Links), which allow the Protagonist to hang out with said characters, get to know them better, give them gifts, and assist with resolving their problems.

Synergies are an integral part of Persona 5: Phantom X gameplay, as not only do they provide additional, albeit limited, income of Premium Currency, but certain Synergies provide great, if not mandatory, abilities that can greatly help in various side activities or even in farming.

You can progress Synergies by hanging out with the character and giving them gifts. It is recommended to always give them a gift as it can take a while to fully rank them up.

Once you've gained enough Closeness Points and met the required Social Stats, you can do their Rank Up Event to rank them up. There are 20 Ranks in total, and you can even form a Soulmates relationship with certain characters.

This guide will list certain characters and their Synergies that are not available on global during launch. The Synergies that are mentioned at the top should be prioritized due to how important they are.

AFTER SCHOOL

S-Rank

• Manaka Nagao: Manaka can increase your Social Stats gain from every City Activities, making it easier for you to reach the required Social Stats Rank to rank up every other Synergies. She also provides up to 15 Superego levels when you reach a high Social Stats rank.
• Which Social Stat is needed to rank up Manaka? Kindness.

• Tomoko Noge: Tomoko can unlock more Part-Time Jobs and increase Social Stats gain when working.
• Which Social Stat is needed to rank up Tomoko? Kindness.

• Riko Tanemura: Riko can unlock more Hangout spots for you, giving you more first-time bonuses on new location visits. She can also increase the amount of Closeness gained from every Hangout.
• Which Social Stat is needed to rank up Riko? Knowledge.

A-Rank

• Kiyoshi Kurotani: Kiyoshi can give you a variety of books, you can read them to gain more rewards from specific City Activities.
• Which Social Stat is needed to rank up Kiyoshi? Guts.

B-Rank

• Motoha Arai: Motoha can teach you a variety of Baseball skills, helping you perform better in Baseball.
• Stat needed: Proficiency.

• Masaki Ashiya: Masaki can teach you a variety of Tycoon skills, helping you perform better in Tycoon.
• Stat needed: Kindness.

• Ayaka Sakai: Ayaka can teach you a variety of Musical skills, helping you perform better in the Music Club.
• Stat needed: Proficiency.

• Shun Kano: Shun can teach you a variety of Cooking skills, helping you make better dishes when Cooking.
• Stat needed: Guts.

• Mayumi Hashimoto: Mayumi can teach you a variety of Crane Game skills.
• Stat needed: Proficiency.

Evening

S-Rank

• Miyu Sahara: Miyu can unlock Universal gifts you can give to all Synergies. Furthermore, she can also increase the amount of Closeness gained from giving gifts.
• Stat needed: Kindness.

• Kotone Montagne: Kotone can increase the efficiency of you getting rewards from Commissions.
• Stat needed: Proficiency.

• Minami Miyashita: Minami can help you get medicines at a lower price and increase their effect.
• Stat needed: Knowledge.

A-Rank

• Merope: Merope can offer you more Velvet Room services, such as unlocking new Fusion recipes.
• Stat needed: None! You just need to complete her Persona Requests.

• Mio Natsukawa: Mio can help you buy items faster by unlocking Tanaka's Shady Commodities.
• Stat needed: Guts.

B-Rank

• Yaoling Li: Yaoling can teach you a variety of Crafting and Cooking recipes.
• Stat needed: Knowledge.

• Kayo Tomiyama: Kayo can give you a variety of outfits, she can also unlock more shops that sell outfits.
• Stat needed: Charm.

Night

• Yumi Shiina: Yumi can teach you a variety of drink recipes, one of which can restore Action Points needed for City Activities.
• Stat needed: Charm.

• Runa Dogenzaka: Runa can teach you a variety of shopping skills, giving you discounts at shops across Tokyo.
• Stat needed: Guts.

A-Rank

• Kira Kitazato: Kira can teach you a variety of Gun skills, he can increase your Gun damage, and unlock the ability to reload in combat.
• Stat needed: Knowledge.

B-Rank

• YUI: YUI can improve your knowledge on Cultivation, decreasing the time it takes to Cultivate Plants.
• Stat needed: Kindness.

• Ichigo: Ichigo can help you unlock character voice lines, allowing you to hear their voices anytime, anywhere.
• Stat needed: Charm.
