What is Danger Close?
Danger Close is a competitive PvE game mode where players compete by fighting a boss every other week. Each boss has 4 difficulty modes, and on the last two difficulties, the players may choose additional risks for the fight to increase their score. Every season, the boss also comes with a set of units buffed and faction debuff.
Is it worth playing?
Simple answer - Yes. Even if you cannot reach the minimum score of 18k for max participation rewards, it is still worth playing for the Danger Close Performance Points currency that can be used to buy important items from the shops such as Maze and Hummingbird gears.
Refer to the Shops and Currencies guide for more information:
Risks and Scoring
Scores are calculated by the following formula (only applies if you have defeated the boss):
Formula
(Base score + (seconds remaining * points per second)) * (1 + score bonus%)
Base score: Hard - 8000 / Expert - 20000
Points per second (roughly): Hard - 28 / Expert 44.44
Score Bonus (See Risks table below)
Note that base scores listed are the scores you get for just defeating the boss and that you are only able to get all participation rewards by doing Hard/Expert mode.
| Type | Tier 1 | Score Bonus | Tier 2 | Score Bonus | Tier 3 | Score Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Decreased Allies ATK | 10% | 3% | 25% | 6% | 50% | 10% |
| Decreased Allies HP | 10% | 3% | 25% | 6% | 50% | 10% |
| Decreased Allies ASPD | 10% | 5% | 25% | 10% | 40% | 15% |
| Decreased Allies Skill Haste | 10% | 5% | 25% | 10% | 40% | 15% |

| Increased Enemies ATK | 10% | 5% | 30% | 10% | 50% | 15% |
| Decreased Deployment Resource Gain | 30% | 10% | - | - | - | - |
The player may choose as many debuffs as they like, but only one per type (e.g. you cannot pick both ATK -10% and ATK -25% in the same run).
In addition to the above Risks, there are also Special Risks that are specific to each boss that will be mentioned in the next section.
Bosses
There's a lot of Danger Close bosses, each requiring a specific approach, or rather tactic, to kill.

Moderator Type A
Type: Mech
Description
A massive weapon of unknown origin from outside our dimension. It specializes in pulverizing approaching enemies, and is also capable of unsupported dimension jumps thanks to an engine system similar to a dimensional ship's. It may have been originally programmed to travel to and from the Counterside hunting C.O.s, but by the time it was discovered, it was out of control, having been damaged beyond repair by Corruption Rays.
※ The Moderator receives additional damage when attacked in the rear, where it is vulnerable.
